I got the Pro version, so the protective waterproof case was already included (by the way, the camera cango as deep at 30m!) The lock is quite sturdy, and it’s easy to open the box. While GitUp lets you switch between video- and photo-shooting mode, I am always confused when I am trying to play the recorded video. I am not really a technical person, so I have to make my mistakes first before learning from them:0 There are only three buttons to operate the camera, so it takes some getting used to operating it. I have spent some time playing around with the camera before really using it. Unlike some other outdoor cameras that I have seen, GitUp features also a screen where you can see what exactly is being recorded/captured in the photo. It’s no problem to fit it into a backpack or even a pocket if possible. The camera is very light and tiny, compared to any other photo camera (it’s weight is 64g and 154g with housing). There are two versions for the GitUp packing. I took this 130$ camera for my trip to Langkawi, Malaysia to see what it could do. Recently, I got my hands on the GitUp Git1 Pro Action Cam by Chinese manufacturer. It would have been extremely handy during the trip to Austria, when I did canyoning (and a couple of other outdoor adventures), where it was just not possible to bring along my other photography equipment. Lately, I have been regretting not having one. Since I focus on adventure travel, sometimes I get into situations where it’s just impossible to use a DSLR camera.

However the Git2 only has auto ISO and that is set to always use a shutter speed suitable for holding the camera in your hands, so you can't have grain free night images. With photos where you can have a slower exposure time, or don't mind having motion blur then you can keep the ISO setting low and that will create nice, no grain, images, but with motion blur if there is any movement - so you will then need a tripod. Or to use a camera with a more sensitive sensor like the Git1, but then you will not get the 16MP resolution when you do have good light.

The answer for video is to get more light! TV studios have very bright lights. In poor lighting this is a problem which it solves by increasing the ISO value but that creates the grainy images.
